CoJam Code of Conduct
The Co-Jam is a co-design event intended for networking, collaboration and co-creation. Co-Jam organisers value the participation of each member of our communities and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. All attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to other attendees throughout the event and when communicating on related channels.
To make clear what is expected, all attendees, speakers, organisers and volunteers at any Co-Jam event are required to follow our Code of Conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event.
The Short Version
Co-Jam events are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience including people of many different backgrounds. Racist language and imagery is not appropriate for any part of the event, including talks.
Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down other attendees. Behave professionally. Remember that harassment and sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes are not appropriate.
Attendees violating these rules may be asked to leave at the sole discretion of the organisers.
Thank you for helping make this a welcoming, friendly event for all!
The Longer Version

Harassing photography or recording
Sustained disruption of talks or other conversations

Enforcement
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, event organisers retain the right to take any actions to keep the event a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the event.
Event organisers may take action to redress anything designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting the event or making the environment hostile for any participants.
We expect participants to follow these rules at all event venues and event-related social activities. We think people should follow these rules outside event activities too!
Reporting
If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. Co-jam organisers can be identified by their lanyards on the day of the event.
Organisers, volunteers, sponsors or similar are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, presenters should not use racist images, activities, or create a racist environment.
Be careful in the words that you choose. Remember that sexist, racist, and other exclusionary jokes can be offensive to those around you. Excessive swearing and offensive jokes are not appropriate during this event.
If a participant engages in behaviour that violates this code of conduct, the event organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion.
